Before I left my executive roles to go all-in on AI, I was a founder and a CPTO leading product, engineering, and design organizations at scale. I've built teams, hired leaders, dealt with board pressure, and shipped software inside companies where changing how people work is never simple.

I solo-founded ChatPRD and host How I AI, where I've interviewed more than 100 operators and executives about how they use AI at work. Between those conversations and my own hands-on work, I get to see what's working, common failure patterns, and where the best are headed.

I like pushing CEOs to think bigger, hack more, and do the hard work required to future-proof their companies.

Zach Davis

I'm an AI skeptic turned believer. After more than a dozen years in engineering leadership, I went back to a hands-on role as a Principal Engineer because I was having too much fun pushing the limits of what AI could do, especially in large, legacy codebases.

I spent nearly a decade at each of two companies as they scaled dramatically. First Atlassian, as it grew from scrappy startup to software giant. Then LaunchDarkly, where I joined as one of its earliest engineering leaders, helping to shape (and repeatedly reshape) how engineering worked. Along the way I got to see how technical and organizational decisions, good and bad, compound over time.

Most recently I led AI transformation across a 100+ person engineering organization at LaunchDarkly, retrofitting a 12-year-old codebase for agentic development and redesigning the workflows and practices around it.

I gravitate toward the messy space where strategy and implementation collide: helping leaders rethink how work gets done, then getting close enough to the teams, systems, and code to make that change real.
